From your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama, head to the Toconao village, towards the Jerez Canyon (Quebrada de Jerez) where you will be able to see the flora and fauna of this beautiful Valley, located at an altitude of 2.475 mts. Once in Toconao, stop at the San Lucas Church, made of mud and straw with its typical tower bell. Be delighted by the different species of pink flamingos; this place is a protected flamingo breeding reservoir and declared Reserva Nacional Los Flamencos (National Reserve).
