Hotel - Alto Atacama

Alto Atacama is located 3.5 kilometers from the town of San Pedro de Atacama. This location outside the urban zone enhances the desert experience with no noise or light pollution and gives guests peace and quiet with a pristine view of the night sky. The design of Alto Atacama Desert Lodge & Spa was influenced by local village architecture and conceived to blend seamlessly into the environment and appear as a part of the terracotta-colored ridge that rises behind it. The setting, the sweeping views, the tranquility and silence, and the hotel’s wonderful outdoor lounge spaces make the Alto Atacama a destination unto itself, and unlike any other hotel property in the region.

Restaurant. Indoor dining room. Two outdoor dining rooms.

The expeditions can be physically demanding or relaxed, they can engage you intellectually or simply let you feel the energy of the desert. Whatever excursion you decide to be part of, the sights will stay with your forever because Atacama is a world of purity and space. Expeditions are carried out in small groups and include van trips, hiking, mountain biking and Astronomy. Activities cater for different interests and skills and the hotel guides will help you feel comfortable and safe on your expedition.

42 guest rooms. 27 standard Catarpe rooms with a terrace offering uninterrupted views of the Cordillera de la Sal Range and Catarpe Valley. 5 Quitor rooms which are the closest rooms to the common areas. 10 Tilo Suite rooms with an open view to the quiet lagoon and Catarpe Valley. All rooms have Terrace. Safe. Minibar (soft drinks only).
