Destination - Arequipa and The Colca Canyon

Arequipa has been built almost entirely in ashlar, a class of white volcanic stone, and is known as the White City.

Arequipa is adorned with colonial churches, mansions and a beautiful convent with a stunning backdrop provided by the volcanoes which dominate the skyline. The Santa Cataina Monastery, built in 1579, served as an isolation house for women of the era.

The city is well known for it's textile production and exquisite gastronomy.

Some 165km to the North, you will find the Colca Canyon which is a magnificent Andean Valley, home to condors and traditional communities. There are approximately 8,000 hectares of irrigated land terraces in this valley, which after 1500 years are still in operation.
