Destination - Arequipa and The Colca Canyon

Arequipa is adorned with colonial churches, mansions and a beautiful convent with a stunning backdrop provided by the volcanoes, which dominate the skyline. To the North, the Colca Canyon is a magnificent Andean Valley, home to condors and traditional communities.

Suggested Itinerary:

Arequipa & The Colca Canyon: 4 days/3 nights

Day 1: Arrive Arequipa
On arrival, transfer to your chosen hotel.
Morning arrivals enjoy an afternoon tour of the “White City”, including the Plaza de Armas (main square), the Cathedral, La Compañia Church and the famous Monastery of Santa Catalina. Next, visit the city’s picturesque surroundings

Day 2: Colca Canyon
Depart for the Colca Canyon, which is twice as deep as the Grand Canyon and bordered on either side by unspoilt villages. Enjoy the spectacular Misti and Chachani volcanoes along the way. Go through the National reserve of Aguada Blanca, where vicuñas and possibly guanacos can be seen. Visit Mollepunku’s paintings and observe the beautiful terraces built by the pre-Incas for agriculture. Quaint colonial villages can also be admired. Picnic lunch is included. During the afternoon, you will arrive at Chivay or Yanque where you can enjoy the thermal baths and evening meal (included).

Day 3: Return to Arequipa
In the morning, stop at Cuz del Condor, the condor sanctuary where you can view the majestic condors in flight. Picnic lunch included. Visit the towns of Pinchollo, Maca and Yanque. In the afternoon, return to Arequipa via Patapampa where the active volcano of Sabancaya will be seen in its splendour.

Day 4: Depart Arequipa
Transfer from your hotel to the airport.
